Regulations

The deadline for submitting works to the Festival Secretariat is November 15, 2023.

Uploading the personal photo of the filmmaker, the artistic resume, several stills from the film, and behind-the-scenes photos is mandatory.

Films selected by the jury will be screened during the festival.

Certificates will be awarded to selected works.

Submitted works will not be returned.

Films that have participated in previous editions of the festival will not be eligible to participate in this cycle.

Each filmmaker can submit films to all the announced sections.

Films without technical broadcasting standards (sound and image quality) will not be considered.

Works produced as separate collections are only allowed to submit one part of them.

There is no limitation on the number of works you can submit.

Films produced with local dialects or other languages must be presented with official Persian subtitles.

Films will be evaluated in two categories: short and feature. The maximum duration for short films is 45 minutes.

Completing and electronically submitting the call form is considered full acceptance of all the rules and regulations of the 53rd International Roshd Film Festival.

Films directed by students but with adult crew members will be evaluated in the International section.

In the International section, within one week of the film's qualification for the competition, if requested by the festival secretariat, the submission of an English subtitle copy by the copyright holder is mandatory. Otherwise, the film will be disqualified from the competition.

Planning the screening of accepted films is the responsibility of the festival secretariat.

Registration and film submission are considered full compliance with the screening regulations in Iran.

Information will be provided exclusively through the festival's public relations and website.

After an entry is accepted into the competition section, it cannot be withdrawn from the festival program.

Some non-cinematic works participating in this festival will be freely showcased in schools inside and outside the country at the discretion of the secretariat. Therefore, registering a film in the festival is equivalent to allowing the work to be screened in these venues.

The interpretation and final decision on unforeseen matters lie with the festival secretary.
